“The most rewarding thing is making our end customers happy”
During the fall of 2021, we had the pleasure of welcoming our new colleague Fredrik Rydergård, Project Developer at FFAB. He has a broad experience in the entire development process – from acquisition to detailed planning and contracting – and has held various roles at multiple residential development companies.
He himself lives in a waterfront apartment in Nacka – an old converted turn-of-the-century brick house that has been converted into apartments in recent years.
– I enjoy it very much. In fact, I would have loved to develop a similar project myself, says Fredrik.
Can you tell us about your role at FFAB?
– As a Project Developer, my job is partly to look at new business, but mainly to develop the business opportunities that the business developers have found and to drive them from an initial idea all the way through to occupancy. There can be many different types of projects, not only residential but also rental projects, commercial properties, or a mixture of all of them.
What is most rewarding about your role?
– The most rewarding thing for me is making our end customers happy. After working hard and putting in a lot of time and energy, I find it joyful to be able to see an end result that is satisfactory for everyone. Sometimes it can be a detailed plan at an early stage where results are not seen for many years, and sometimes it can be short construction projects in a client role where it may only take a year from idea to reality. This is what drives me, to turn ideas and visions into reality.
Do you have a dream project?
– Dream projects are those projects that are both fun and stimulating and that also put FFAB on the map, both externally and financially. It’s always nice to visit a project a few years after completion and be reminded of the whole process, from sniffing it out to the final result. So really, it’s probably about realizing someone else’s dream project.
